Baguio (The Second Visit)

June 24, 2010 | Filed under Adventure | 132 views

It was nice to be back in Baguio, though I got really exhausted driving for 6 hours straight. It was my first time to drive from Manila to Baguio. We discovered the easy way to go to Nlex is to take the Mindanao Nlex exit. We’re lucky on that day, it was the first time it opened. So if you want to avoid the traffic in EDSA or if you’re coming from Katipunan, UP or QC, then take this route.

Edi and I were in Baguio last year so this is our second visit, together with Inal and his husband Cyrus. Since we have company, we decided to be their tourist guide and acted as tourist also.

La Luz Resort at San Juan, Batangas

I’m quite surprised by how much La Luz Resort has changed. It was 2005 when I first visited this resort in San Juan, Batangas.

One of the thing I remember most is that, their rate was very expensive. And you don’t rent the room only, instead the whole cottage (or house). That’s why it’s expensive. The cottage even have a dining area, kitchen, bar, etc…

KaLui ng Puerto Princesa

December 9, 2009 | Filed under Adventure, Eye Catching | 161 views

KaLui Entrance KaLui is a fish restaurant which is famous in Puerto Princesa. KaLui has made it to the Authors choice of Lonely Planet 2006 (book).

We heard from our tour guide that we should make a reservation before going there. Edi and I went there early around 6pm and luckily, there’s still one table available.

As we entered the restaurant, I was amazed on how they decorated the place in a traditional manor. So it is a quite interesting thing to look at your surroundings while having your meal. The no shoes policy also added a feel of being in a local place.

Subterranean River (Underground River) Tour

December 4, 2009 | Filed under Adventure | 143 views

Underground EntranceOn our last itinerary, we visited the UNESCO World Heritage Site-Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, also known as the Underground River.

The land travel from the city to Sabang beach took us approximately 3 hours. It was raining when we got there. Kuya Mol, our tour guide went to the park office to get a permit to visit the Underground River. He booked us for a boat to the river entrance.

We waited for our turn to get in the boat. The park office has a numbering system per group making it more systematic. The boat only carries 6 people.

On our way to the Underground River entrance, we were amazed on how strong the waves are. It got me really scared because my life-vest sucks big time. It’s still raining on our way to the underground.
